FURNITURE,
CLOTHING, HOUSEHOLD GOODS -- Many
of these organizations pick up, but some have a minimum donation
for pickup.

Access
Matching service between individuals and nonprofit organizations.
- inKindex.com
Online resource that facilitates the donation of excess inventory
to nonprofit organizations.
- Gifts
in Kind International
Mainly for businesses as opposed to individuals. They accept
mostly new merchandise, including computers, office supplies,
furniture, clothing, books, and building supplies.
- Glass
Slipper Project
The Glass Slipper Project collects new and almost-new formal
dresses and accessories and provides them, free of charge, to
Chicago high school students who are unable to purchase their
own prom attire.
- Goodwill
International
Donate clothing, jewelry, toys, housewares, records,
tapes, and CDs as long as goods and materials are in good, working
condition. They also accept automobiles.
- MissionFish
They host online auctions where every item up for bidding
has been donated to a good cause, and the money raised from every
sale goes to a nonprofit.
- Reuse
Development Organization (ReDo)
This nonprofit's mission is to promote reuse as an environmentally
sound, socially beneficial and economical means for managing
surplus and discarded materials.
- The
Salvation Army
Donate clothing, blankets and linens, furniture, household
supplies, etc. that are in sellable condition. Free pickup, but
many branches have a minimum donation for pickup. To schedule
a pick up of goods to be donated please call 1-800-95-TRUCK
- Society
of St. Vincent de Paul
Donate clothing, furniture, household items, appliances,
beds and mattresses, and automobiles in good condition. Free
pickup.
- United
Cerebral Palsy
They accept clothing, household items, small furniture,
and automobiles.
- Vietnam
Veterans of America
They take mostly clothing, but check with your local
branch (which you can find at their site) on what they accept.

COMPUTERS
Nonprofit
groups, schools, and religious organizations often depend on the
technology that is donated since it is too expensive for them to
keep up with the latest products on their own.

They
refurbish old computers and distribute them to those who need
them, including Indian reservations in the Southwest.
- Share
the Technology
They
salvage used computers, repair and upgrade them, then donate
them to nonprofit organizations, schools and people with disabilities.

Through the IBM PC Recycling Service, consumers and small businesses
can recycle any manufacturer's PCs, including system units, monitors,
printers and optional attachments for $29.99 which includes shipping.

donations

computers
at
a

resource
for
companies.
- Oakland
Technology Exchange
Recycles computer technology for the Oakland (CA) Public
Schools. They are looking for Windows compatible computers. (486
or greater) and accept donations on Tuesday afternoons from 3-6
pm at 426 Alice St. in Oakland, CA.
- Community
Computer Connection
C3 refurbishes computers and places them into nonprofits and
schools throughout Colorado. They accept working PIIor faster
PC-based computers and additional components and parts.

CARS
Many national charity organizations accept cars of almost any condition.
These organizations will pick up your car, sell it, and then
use the proceeds for their cause.

Cars International
They
accept cars, trucks, vans, RVs, even real estate. Recipients
include needy individuals such as victims of domestic violence,
the medically needy, victims of natural disasters, families transitioning
from public assistance to work. Free pick up.

Car Donation Charities Center
They
accept most cars, trucks, vans, fleet vehicles, trailers, boats
and RV's and will pick up. Choose from a number of organizations
to receive the proceeds.
- Easter
Seals Car Donation Program
Donate a car, RV, boat or trailer and receive the full fair market
value as a tax deduction. They provide free pick up.
- Children's
Wish Foundation
Donate your car, truck, RV, or real estate, and fulfill the wish
of a terminally ill child. Free pick up.
- Donate
Car for Charity
Donate your car, boat, truck or RV. Your donation is fully tax-deductible
and free towing is included if necessary.
- Cars
for Kids
Hassle free pick-up when you donate a car. The average pickup
time for your car is usually between 24-48 hours.
